From the Spanish Golden Age of drama, Life is a Dream is a quintessential old fashioned play. It’s got prophesies, love triangles, outmoded attitudes, sword fights, difficult language, oaths, and long soliloquies.

The production uses the old classic to look at aging, how cherished antiques decay while what’s supposed to be disposable and plastic lasts forever. The design shows this by interpreting Polish historical costumes with a Party City asthetic. It marries the textures of old , well loved, theater stock with the hard, bright, shininess of party plates and goodie bags.
